Celebrity Guests Gather at Armani’s Exclusive Pre-Oscar Celebration on Rodeo Drive
Crowds of onlookers assembled outside the gleaming storefront of Giorgio Armani’s Beverly Hills flagship location on Saturday night, pressing against the windows to catch glimpses of the luxury brand’s exclusive pre-awards ceremony reception.
The atmosphere inside the boutique was electric as Hollywood’s elite mingled among the designer’s latest collections. The intimate gathering served as a sophisticated prelude to the Academy Awards ceremony scheduled for the following evening.
When questioned about her Oscar viewing plans, comedian Janelle James playfully responded that she would be ‘in my sweats, with popcorn and some sushi’ as guests continued to stream into the rapidly filling space.
The store’s bright lighting illuminated servers weaving through the crowd with champagne flutes, while attendees browsed between elegant evening wear displays. Photography crews positioned themselves strategically near the entrance to document the steady flow of arrivals.
The exclusive event drew together performers, recording artists, and the fashion house’s most valued clients before Sunday’s main event. Notable attendees dressed in Giorgio Armani designs included Jon Hamm, Samuel L. Jackson, Yara Shahidi, Edgar Ramirez, Maika Monroe, Macaulay Culkin, Brenda Song, Chase Stokes, Jurnee Smollett, and Eric Nam.
The ‘Abbott Elementary’ star embraced the label’s characteristic understated aesthetic in an elegant black evening gown featuring subtle see-through elements that became apparent upon closer inspection.
‘It appears to be a simple black dress, but it’s actually transparent,’ she explained. ‘Alluring, yet not overly obvious. That’s Armani’s signature – refined, attractive, and streamlined.’
Smollett similarly opted for a black cocktail dress, particularly drawn to one specific design element.
‘My preferred feature is the décolletage,’ she said with amusement. ‘It’s quite playful.’
The performer reminisced about encountering Giorgio Armani personally at a fashion presentation in Dubai some years prior.
‘He possessed such an instinct for refinement, and it continues to feel eternally relevant,’ Smollett observed. ‘The evening wear consistently evokes pieces that could have adorned Katharine Hepburn during the 1950s, those iconic Old Hollywood references, while maintaining a modern and contemporary appeal.’
Television personality and devoted customer Christine Chiu showcased a modern piece from Armani’s partnership with streetwear label Kith.
‘That’s what I admire about Armani – while they remain eternal and traditional, they somehow maintain awareness of what’s fashionable and sophisticated,’ she noted. ‘They establish upcoming trends while preserving their grace.’
Eric Nam made his entrance wearing a vintage piece – an Armani suit the musician revealed had been preserved in his wardrobe for the perfect occasion.
‘It’s been waiting there for an exceptional day to be showcased,’ he shared. ‘And this is that moment.’
