Prince William Honors Late Mother Diana with Heartfelt Mother’s Day Message

The heir to the British throne shared an emotional tribute to his deceased mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, through a special photograph released on Mother’s Day. The future king expressed that he holds her memory close “today and every day” in a heartfelt social media post.

The intimate photograph, selected from the royal family’s personal archives, shows Diana embracing young William, then just two years old, while surrounded by blooming flowers. This precious moment was captured in 1984 at the family’s Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire, which served as their primary home during that period.

In his personal message shared on social media platform X, the prince wrote: “Remembering my mother, today and every day. Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day. W”

The beloved princess lost her life at the young age of 36 in a tragic car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. Had she lived, Diana would have marked her 65th birthday on July 1st of this year.

The broader royal household also participated in Mother’s Day commemorations by releasing several historical photographs on social media. Among these was a touching image of King Charles and his sister Anne, the Princess Royal, alongside their mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, taken at Balmoral Castle in Scotland during 1953.

The vintage photograph depicts the family relaxing on a garden bench, with the Queen’s beloved corgi, Sue, visible in the scene. This image was captured before the births of Charles’s younger siblings, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, the current Duke of Edinburgh.

Additional photographs featured the late Queen with her own mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, as well as Queen Camilla with her late mother, Rosalind Shand. The royal family’s accompanying message read: “Wishing Mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their Mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday.”

These Mother’s Day tributes emerged just one day following the publication of a controversial new book about Prince Harry. Author Tom Bower alleges in his work that Queen Camilla confided to a friend her belief that Meghan Markle had “brainwashed” Harry prior to the couple’s departure from the United Kingdom to establish their new life in the United States in 2020.
